Stars execute first successful 3-point conversion in USFL history

The USFL is innovating and the Philadelphia Stars took advantage in the fourth quarter against the Pittsburgh Maulers on Saturday.

The Stars went up 27-23 on a 10-yard touchdown pass from Bryan Scott to Maurice Alexander.

Rather than go up one with a conventional PAT, or a 2-point conversion, Bart Andrus had his team run a play from the 10-yard line. If successful, the Stars would take a seven-point lead.

And Scott hit running back Paul Terry, who did the rest, diving into the end zone to give Philadelphia a 30-23 lead.

Do you like the idea of a 3-point conversion or is it too much of a gimmick?
