American coffee house chain Starbucks has opened its second drive-thru in Nottingham in under a month.
Its new site in Queens Drive opened at 7am on Monday, March 15, after the vacant lot was sold to the coffee giant in August last year.
Three drive-thru operators had put in their plans and Starbucks was successful.
The development in Portal Retail Park, next to Dunelm, had been vacant for some time before the grass was cleared and a new building and car park was built.
A total of 20 new jobs have been created as a result and complimentary Starbucks gift bags were given to the first 100 customers to visit, as well as sharing Treat a Friend vouchers throughout the day.
Alok Yadav, director for the store's new operator Kbeverage Limited, said: "We are excited to open our first store in Nottingham and becoming a part of the local community.
"The team are closely following the latest guidance from both the government and health authorities to keep everyone safe."
Starbucks says while seating is not available for use inside the store, customers can still order for takeaway.
The store is the second to open across the city in the space of a month.
A drive-thru was opened in Victoria Retail Park on February 25, creating 16 jobs.
