Starbucks (SBUX) and Dunkin (DNKN) have upped the game between one another with each of their respective partnership bottling companies Coca Cola (KO) and PepsiCo Botting Co (PEP).
Dunkin partnered with Coca-Cola to expand its reach through the ready to drink market, and Starbucks had already partnered with PepsiCo to bottle and ship its ready-to-drink beverages. Starbucks and Dunkin are going after the ready-to-drink market that is growing over $1 billion each year for the next few years.
Dunkin partnered with Coca-Cola in 2017 to bring their fan favorite coffee to the ready-to-drink market. While Starbucks was already there, it had proven the path for Dunkin to jump right in and bring competition to the ready-to-drink market. While the number of locations for each coffee company is in Starbucks favor, that doesn’t mean Dunkin isn’t out to compete with Starbucks.
The two coffee companies are giving everyone the liquid motivation they need to get started and get through their day to days. Starbucks has had its coffee in the ready-to-drink beverage aisle of the grocery and convenient stores for quite a while, and it’s proven to be a success. So, adding to its variety seems like a no brainer.
Starbucks Latest Has Hit Stores
Starbucks' new ready to drink beverages Paradise Drink and the Pink Drink have finally hit the shelves of grocery and convenient stores, Brand Eating reported. The long-awaited Pink Drink that is a blend of strawberry Açai, coconut milk and freeze-dried strawberries is now available in bottles. Starbucks’ Paradise Drink is a blend of passionfruit flavors, pineapple, coconut milk and fruit juice. The two drinks made it to retailers’ aisles just in time for summer to kick off. The two new drinks are available in 14-ounce bottles and a retail price of $3.67, however prices may vary by retailer and location.
Starbucks sure knows its coffee, and it is also bringing even more to its ready-to-drink coffee shelves with the Frappuccino Mini. It’s the same as the bigger bottles of Frappuccino’s, but just in a smaller size, for those who need a quick little coffee kick. The minis will come in caramel and white chocolate mocha flavors in 6.5-ounce cans sold in packs of eight, with a retail price of $11.99, however, of course, prices may vary by retailer and location. Another Frappuccino flavor coming to stores is the White Chocolate Mocha, available in a 13.7 ounce bottle.
The Doubleshot ready to drink coffees aren’t new, but Starbucks is adding caramel flavor to it. The energizing caramel coffee will have B vitamins, guarana, and ginseng, all of which are known to help keep people awake and mentally alert. The suggested retail price is $3.67 for the 15-ounce Doubleshot Energy Caramel Starbucks drink. Sticking with the highly energizing coffee available by Starbucks in its ready to drink form is the addition Espresso Americano, a 40-ounce bottle of Espresso and water, in Black Unsweet and Milk and Sugar for a suggested retail price of $5.49.
Starbucks’ Secret is Out
The drink that used to only be able to be ordered as part of a secret menu hack is now available on grocery shelves, the famed Starbucks Pink Drink. The pink concoction wasn’t the only secret menu item that Starbucks had. Most recently the secret Starbucks drink on Instagram and TikTok is the Sunset Drink. The Sunset Drink is a blend of mango Dragonfruit Lemonade Refresher, peach juice and iced herbal tea.
The shear marketing genius of who thought up the idea that these new drinks would be only available off the menu gives customers a sense that they are ‘in the know’ or a special select group that can order this menu item and enjoy it before anyone else.
