Star Wars Outlaws will add Lando Calrissian and space pirates in post-launch updates

Are you excited about Star Wars Outlaws? There’s even more to look forward to now that Ubisoft has outlined the content added to the game post-release.

Ubisoft’s Chastity Vicencio has run through what you can expect as part of the Star Wars Outlaws Season Pass, which is included with the Gold Edition of the game.

The biggest news is we’ll get to meet Lando Calrissian in the first major DLC, although we can’t be sure he won't appear in the main game already.

Star Wars Outlaws' season pass includes two (hopefully) chunky “story packs”; two pieces of mission-led DLC; and some cosmetics and a bespoke single mission involving Jabba the Hut. However, he’s already confirmed to be included in the main campaign, before you rush off to find your credit card to buy the Season Pass.

What does the Star Wars Outlaws Season Pass include?

The two story packs are Wild Card and A Pirate’s Fortune and will take Star Wars Outlaws’ extra content into 2025.

A Wild Card is due in “fall 2024” — or autumn to us UK folks — and has an air of Casino Royale. Your character, Kay Vess, has to find her way into a Sabacc tournament — that's a high-stakes card game.

On her way, she’ll bump into Lando Calrissian and find out there’s more going on than just a spot of gambling. "She soon learns another game is being played,” says the Ubisoft blog.

The second story pack, A Pirate’s Fortune, is out in early 2025. It involves teaming up with pirate Hondo Ohnaka, who appeared in Star Wars: The Clone Wars and Star Wars Rebels. He’s out to settle a score with what sounds like some old pirate affiliates of his — and you need to give him a hand.

Finally, Star Wars Outlaws’s Season Pass exclusive mission for Jabba the Hut sees you pull an errand for the big man. “ND-5 owes the Hutts a debt from years ago, and Jabba has come to collect,” says the blurb.

Star Wars Outlaws’ Story Packs will be available separately, although we do not know how much they will cost. The Gold Edition upgrade, with Season Pass included, is an additional £35. But this also includes “up to 3 days” of additional play before the official release date.

Early reports on Star Wars Outlaws have been oddly mixed. A first round of previews suggested it was disappointing. Eurogamer called it “worryingly dated” in a June write-up. But the outlook seemed much better a month later, making the game sound great fun overall.

We’ll find out for good once Star Wars Outlaws comes out on August 30, for PlayStation 5, Xbox Series consoles, and PC.
