Stanleybet relocates Liverpool headquarters to Bruntwood Works’ The Plaza

European gaming and betting company Stanleybet has relocated its Liverpool headquarters.

The business has moved into Bruntwood Works’ The Plaza, taking 5,300 sq ft of space on the 14th floor of the Old Hall Street building.

Stanleybet, which operates 2,000 sites across the UK, Belgium, Cyprus, Italy and Malta, was originally founded in Ireland and moved its head office to Liverpool in 1979.

The group also has locations in Croatia, Germany, Nigeria and Romania through its Magellan Robotech brand.

According to its most recently available financial accounts, the company's turnover decreased from €67.7m to €64.3m in 2021 while it posted a pre-tax loss of €2.1m after making a profit of €923,000 in 2020.

Bruntwood Works has developed The Plaza in recent years under its £200m Pioneer programme.

Stanleybet Group's chief financial office, Tom Green, said: "The location – close to the city centre, with train stations and car parks nearby – all the facilities within the building and, last but not least, an inspiring view above the Mersey river from our desks, made The Plaza an easy choice for the group when we decided to relocate our headquarters."

Tony Reed, head of commercial at Bruntwood Works, added: "The Plaza has become a destination address for a large number of aspiring, ambitious businesses.

"Its new ground floor amenities and the sense of community collaboration in the building, allied with large refurbished spaces, make it a popular choice.

"Stanleybet Group is a well-known name in the world of gaming and entertainment, with a strong locally-based workforce and plans for future growth. We are delighted to welcome the team to The Plaza."
