Standard Liege announce signing of Northern Ireland teenager

Northern Ireland midfielder Isaac Price has earned a move to the Belgian Pro League with Standard Liege.

Price has agreed a deal which will see him tied to the club until June 2027.

It is a big move for the 19-year-old who has been with Everton since the age of seven. He made his Premier League debut for the Toffees last season and also featured in the FA Cup against Boreham Wood.

Standard Liege said on their website: "Standard de Liège and Isaac Price have reached an agreement: the Northern Irish central midfielder has signed up with our club until June 2027.

"Born in Wakefield on September 26, 2003 (19 years old), Isaac learned all his skills at Everton where he made his debut with the first team in March 2022.

"He chose Standard to pursue his career and reach a new level. Isaac was seduced by our project and is delighted to put his qualities at the service of the Rouches.

"Our club welcomes Isaac Price as well as the best under our colours."

Price has played for England and Northern Ireland at youth level, and is also eligible for Germany. He made his senior Northern Ireland debut back in March in a Euro qualifying win over San Marino and has been included in Michael O'Neill's squad for the upcoming games against Denmark and Kazakhstan.

He has previously featured for Northern Ireland U17, U19 and U21 teams and was a regular with Everton's U21s.

Speaking back in March, Northern Ireland boss O'Neill said: "Isaac Price is a young player who we should be excited about, but he is here for the experience. I watched him for Everton Under 21s against PSV in the Premier League Cup and I was very impressed by how he played.

"He is a player I knew because he was in our system from 14 or 15 and there has been a lot of work done with players such as Isaac and Shea Charles. Players who weren't born here but have been in our system for quite some time.

"That is work that has been done by Andy Cousins and Jim Magilton over the years, and more recently Andy Waterworth. They have come through the pathway and are now in the senior international camp."
