Arsenal are planning a significant transfer outlay this summer and look set to receive backing from owner Stan Kroenke, football.london understands.
The Gunners made two signings in January from the MLS in Auston Trusty and Matt Turner, with both players set to officially join this summer.
However, there were no first team incomings during the January window despite calls from fans and pundits to bring in a new central midfielder and striker.
Mikel Arteta is expected to target a new central midfielder, striker and right back this summer with the possibility of further first team additions.
Kroenke's NFL team LA Rams return to the world's most expensive stadium to face the Cincinnati Bengals in the Super Bowl on Sunday.
The Rams have reached the play-offs four times in the last five seasons and it's believed that the Super Bowl is expected to earn them £350million.
Kroenke has taken a back seat role at Arsenal in recent years and left the running of the club to son Josh, who is listed as a director.
Interestingly, the Rams took a gamble on signing the best available veteran players instead of taking players from the young pool of players in the NFL draft.
"We worked on this project for a number of years and it’s wonderful to see it come to fruition," Kroenke told NFL Network.
"Reaching the big game in our house means a lot, we are proud of it."
At the helm of the Rams is coach Sean McVay, who at 36 would be the youngest head coach to win the Super Bowl.
The parallels with Arteta are uncanny and with a team worth more than £3bn, the Americans are setting a blueprint for how to run a sports franchise successfully.
Indeed, it's easy to point out that Kroenke is overseeing success in a different sport in a different country, but there is still the same collective aim in every sports organisation - to win trophies and breed success.
117 million people are expected to watch the Super Bowl on Sunday and it's Arsenal who will one day hope to replicate the success of the other Kroenke-owned side - sooner rather than later.
