Stan Collymore believes Nottingham Forest will survive relegation at the expense of Leeds United. Forest currently occupy a place in the bottom three, and trail the Whites in the table on goal difference.
Leeds face Manchester City, Newcastle United, West Ham and Tottenham Hotspur during the Premier League run-in, while Forest play Southampton, Chelsea, Arsenal and Crystal Palace.
And Collymore, who previously played for Forest, believes Leeds are destined for the Championship due to their difficult fixture list.
"Southampton look doomed – I think they’re probably most people’s first pick, so no surprises there," Collymore wrote in his CaughtOffside column.
"Everton’s remaining fixtures look really, really tough, so they’re my second pick and purely because Nottingham Forest have a couple more winnable games (on paper) than Leeds United do, I am going to make the Whites my third pick."
Sam Allardyce starts his rescue mission at the Etihad on Saturday. Defeat for the Whites could see them tumble into the relegation zone if Forest either draw or beat Southampton at the City Ground on Monday night.
