Former Liverpool forward Stan Collymore says he does not think Leeds United would have overturned the deficit against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the latter stages of Marcelo Bielsa's reign. Bielsa's successor Jesse Marsch, led the Whites to a 3-2 win over Wolves despite watching his side go two goals down in the first-half.
The second-half comeback was helped by a red card for Wolves marksman Raul Jimenez but Marsch's men showed plenty of heart to clinch three points. In the print edition of The Sunday People on 27 March, Collymore said: "Top marks to new Leeds boss Jesse Marsch for two successive wins before the international break.
"His players showed tremendous character to come back from 2-0 down at half-time against Wolves at Molineux last Friday, presumably after a roasting at the interval. I don’t imagine, if I’m being honest, that would have happened in the latter days of Marcelo Bielsa."

Collymore has also admitted he can see Leeds retaining their Premier League status, despite the fact there is still work to do in the Premier League run-in. He has also insisted people should not be surprised if there is an influx of American coaches arriving in England's top flight.
He said: "I can easily see Leeds staying up now and it will be fantastic to see an American coach doing well in the Premier League.
"It’s an important time for Marsch because he could be a trailblazer for his compatriots if his style works. And don’t be surprised if in 10 years’ time, with perhaps one or two more American owners, we see several coaches from his background managing in the Premier League."
Marsch cut his teeth in management as the USA national team's assistant manager before enjoying spells with Montreal Impact and New York Red Bulls. RB Leipzig were the first European club to give him an opportunity and he aided Ralf Rangnick in his first spell with the Bundesliga side before joining Red Bull Salzburg as head coach.
He eventually returned to RB Leipzig as number one but departed in November 2021 and the American then took the reins at Elland Road last month.
