Stagecoach looking for trainee bus drivers paying £25k a year

Stagecoach is looking to recruit trainee bus drivers with a starting salary of £25,000 to be a "lifeblood of the local communities".

The transport company are looking for drivers to start their bus driving career with free in-house training at the company's training school.

Stagecoach are offering a starting salary of £25,000 which can be boosted with overtime work once a qualified driver.

The transport company also offers new applicants the opportunity to quickly climb the promotion ladder within the business.

Stagecoach said new applicants have to be wiling to deliver a great experience for their customers, have a driving licence held for two or more years with no more than six penalty points, and have the availability to work a range of shifts including weekends.

Any applicants will also have to undertake a medical including a drugs and alcohol check - and if successful, will also be subject to random checks throughout their employment.

On the job advert, Stagecoach said: "You already have fantastic people skills, but do you fancy being part of the lifeblood of our local community?

"You’ll be the face of our business, playing an incredibly important role each and every day safely and comfortably transporting our fantastic customers to work, to the high street, to our cities, towns and villages, to healthcare and community services, to days away and nights out, all whilst ensuring your people skills are top notch.

"You’ll know some customers by name, and some of them will know you and where they don’t, we’re relying on you to give them a fantastic experience, with your focus on all things customer.

"You’ll need to operate the bus safely of course, but we’ll teach you all of that for free in our in-house training school."

Stagecoach offer a number of benefits including a regular income over £25,000 after nine months with the ability to boost with overtime, a company pension which increases as the applicant's career develops, and free travel for the applicant and their companion.

A successful applicant will also get 28 days leave rising to 33 days after their qualifying period, and opportunities to transfer to other Stagecoach depots across the UK.

The transport company also promises the applicant will receive a skill for life so the applicant can "drive [a bus] with as much ease as you do your everyday car".
