Stagecoach bus roof ripped off as double decker smashes into low railway bridge

The roof of a bus was almost completely ripped off after the double decker smashed into a railway bridge in Inverness on Friday evening.

Officers closed Harbour Road in Inverness following the accident at around 7pm which also caused disruption to rail services.

No passengers were on the bus at the time while the driver of the bus was checked over by paramedics who found he had not suffered any injuries.

A Police Scotland spokesperson confirmed that officers attended the scene and that the road was later reopened.
