Stagecoach has announced changes set to take place across the network. The regional bus company will be updating their services from Sunday, July 23, including scrapping some buses and increasing the number of buses for some routes. Changes will be made to multiple services in south Wales across the network.
Stagecoach says: "Most services will have changes to times to improve the reliability of the services although some services may change to reflect different travel patterns following the pandemic and customer demand." The new timetables are available on the Stagecoach website.
Caerphilly and Blackwood:
- Service 9 Blackwood will no longer run
Services 5, 27, 52 and 151 will have new journey times
Service 26, 17:22 journey from Blackwood and 19:05 journey from Cardiff will be removed from the timetable. The service will start and end at Greyfriars road, Cardiff
Merthyr Tydfil:
Service T14 Brecon to Cardiff will be re-introduced, offering an up to hourly service between Pen-y-fan and the Brecon Beacons
Service 25 will serve Cyfarthfa Shopping and extend to Pontsticill
Service 33 and service 81 will run up to every hour instead of every half an hour
Service 97 will no longer run
Services 1, 3, 23, 27, 78 will see changes to their journey times
Rhondda Cynon Taf:
Services 139 and 121 will merge, service 121 will run up to every hour between Blaencwm, Cwmparc, Gelli and Tonypandy
New Service X32 will run between Maerdy, Pontypridd Caddy's and then to Cardiff via A470, with a faster journey on Monday to Friday
Service 120/130 will only serve early mornings, evenings and Sundays through Blaenrhondda and Blaencwm
Service 124 journey times will change, serving Palace Road instead of Cardiff Road out of Cardiff
Services 131, 132, 133, 136 will have changes to their timetables
Torfaen:
Service 23 will run from Newport to Hereford, running up to every hour between Cwmbran and Newport on Sunday
Service X3 will run from Cwmbran to Cardiff and serve Pontypool in the morning and evening. The service will arrive and depart at Greyfriars road, Cardiff
Service 7 will have changes to its timetable and will also serve Cwmbran Stadium
Services 1, 5A/5C, 6, 10, 11 12, 15, 16, 17, 21 and X24 will have changes to their timetables
As well as these changes, Stagecoach will also be implementing changes to their services in the Aberdare areas from Sunday, July 30.
Aberdare:
Service 113 will now serve ASDA, re-routing in Cwmbach
Services 7 and 8 will merge, Service 8 will run from Aberdare, Penderyn, Rhigos to Glynneath
Services 60/61 will run up to every 20 minutes rather than every hour
Services 172 and 6 will merge, service 172 will run from Merthyr Tydfil to Bridgend Monday to Saturday and from Aberdare to Porthcawl on Sunday only
Services 1,9,14,95 will see a change in journey times
