Local staff working at social care charity Cornerstone were celebrated for their dedicated service at an awards ceremony.
Nine staff members from Cornerstone’s West Dunbartonshire and Argyll and Bute branch were presented with 10, 20 or 25 year-long service awards, representing a cumulative 55 years of loyal service at the STAR awards.
Two of the charity’s modern apprenticeship class of 2022 graduates from West Dunbartonshire and Argyll and Bute were also recognised.
Alongside this, the Mary Williamson Awards was won by Amy McGrandles, with Cameron Cree being runner-up.
Amy’s nominators said: “Amy used to live with her mum, who was able to give her constant 1:1 attention.
“However, when Amy’s mum was diagnosed with cancer, she was unable to support Amy to the same extent.
“Amy initially agreed to come to the Waterfront service for one month to allow her mum to receive treatment but soon discovered the joys of living independently, and was keen to move to a supported living house more permanently.
“Not only did this decision give Amy some new independence, but it meant that Amy’s mum could concentrate on her health and treatment while knowing Amy is being cared for.”
Cameron’s nominators added: “Over the years, Cami’s speech has improved, and he is now communicating a lot more with staff.
“Being able to communicate more has enabled Cami to better express his needs to staff which has made a huge difference in his daily life.”
Cornerstone’s Team of the Year was also awarded to The Ally Williamson team at Baxter View in Dumbarton.
Hazel Brown, Chief Executive of Cornerstone, commented: “Huge congratulations go to all our award winners, runners-up, and those awarded highly commended. What a wonderful day.”
