Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust has announced the overall winners of its Team NUH Awards. More than 170 people attended the awards ceremony at The Walled Garden, Beeston Fields, on Thursday, October 6, in addition to more watching virtually.
The Trust has celebrated excellence in patient care, innovation and leadership over the past year. It has seen 24 quarterly award winners and more than 600 shortlisted nominees across nine award categories, with judging and award presentations taking place in their hospitals.
The ceremony brought together all of the quarterly winners to crown the overall winner in each category, as well as the Volunteer of the Year. The Team NUH Awards programme launched in 2020 as a way to recognise all of the hard work and achievement's by the trust's staff and volunteers.

The NUH has more 17,000 members of staff in a variety of roles, all of which contribute to keeping their busy hospitals running every day of the year.
Speaking before the ceremony, Trust Chair Nick Carver OBE and newly appointed Chief Executive Anthony May said: "On behalf of the Trust Board, we would like to take this opportunity to say ‘thank you’ to every single person who forms part of Team NUH, including our volunteers, whose commitment and dedication, day in, day out, is outstanding. We would like to say a big ‘well done’ to all winners and highly commended awardees from our quarterly rounds, as well as everyone nominated for a Team NUH award this year.”
ITV weather presenter, Emma Jesson, hosted the ceremony, and there were speeches from Nick Carver OBE and Anthony May. Seven of the awards aligned to the Trust's values, and there was also a Public award and Volunteer of the Year award.
Joanna Fern, Digital Library Assistant won the Trust Award, the BAME Ambassadors won the Empower Award, and the Ambitious Award was received by Sarah Brand, Nursing Practice Development and Research Lead, Cancer and Associated Specialties.
Staff Nurse, Radiology Angio/Interventional, Tabitha Rae, won the Mindful Award, Ami Wass, Facilities team leader, cleaning services, won the nurturing award and the United Award was achieved by the Child Bereavement and Palliative Care Team.
Sarah Henstock, Senior Occupational Therapist, won the Honest Award, Nikki Cotgreave-Keates, Fertility Sister, NUH Life, won the Public Award, and Patricia Petman won the Volunteer of the Year award.
The Trust would like to congratulate all of its winners, finalists and highly commended staff members for all their incredible achievements this year. They would also like to thank the award sponsors, whose generosity and support made the ceremony possible.
