Stack Seaburn to show crucial Sunderland Final at Wembley live this Saturday with walk-ins invited

As excitement builds ahead of the weekend sporting action, Stack in Seaburn is preparing to welcome hordes of football fans keen to watch the SAFC v Wycombe Wanderers match live.

Sunderland 's coastal hub will be showing the match on the big screen and is promising a fanzone atmosphere to go with it. And on the big day it will be accepting walk-ins too for the high-stakes game which will see the teams battle it out to win the Sky Bet League One play-off final at Wembley.

While the bookable benches on Stack's upper level have now sold out, remaining space on the ground floor is being kept free until the day. And this means that those who don't want to miss out on the live action will have a chance of bagging one of the last tables if they're quick off the mark.

The seats in front of the screen will be available on a first-come, first-served basis throughout the day in the run-up to the 3pm kick-off. And Stack says there is a large capacity with plenty of standing and seating room with screen views.

The £2.5m Seaburn container village, which opened in 2020 and - following the loss of Stack in Newcastle - recently confirmed it has no plans to close, is a huge hit with customers and Saturday's match, a major fixture which marks the end of the Sunderland season, is set to see local fans descend in droves, following the previous success of Stack's screening of the team's semi-final victory over Sheffield Wednesday.

It will open at 10am on Saturday, as will all its bars, and the food outlets will follow suit at 11am. Kevin Walker, entertainments director at the Danieli Group which owns Stack Seaburn, is looking forward to an electric atmosphere. He said: “We appreciate not everyone can make the trip to Wembley to watch the final so we hope to create an exciting fanzone atmosphere for all the family to enjoy here at Stack.

"The dramatic semi-final victory over Sheffield Wednesday saw supporters jumping and cheering as they watched the team reach the finals on our big screen. We may not be able to influence the results but we are looking forward to bringing everyone together to show their support for the team and hopefully watch SAFC take the win!”

Stack's usual day-long entertainment will also slot in between the action, with a break to allow for full commentary on the big screen. The band Tommy and the Odd Balls will be playing before the usual evening DJ set, all adding to the party mood. Find out more about Stack here.
