Stacey Solomon unveils genius kitchen cupboard hack that has 'changed her life'

Stacey Solomon was on hand with a number of hacks and tips to help declutter your home, in her new BBC One series.

The Loose Women and X Factor star took her love of DIY and home improvement to screens, as she attempted to help one family in just seven days.

Completely emptying their home of all contents, she asked the family to choose what they wanted to keep and what to get rid of - with the help of Stacey's team.

Back at the house, Stacey and her team gave it a much needed makeover while upcycling items and transforming existing parts of the house.

Stacey also took the time to show off some of her own home hacks that she's picked up along the way.

From cleaning furniture to deciding what items to keep, Stacey gave her words of wisdom as the family, especially mum Tash, struggled with parting with certain items.

But one idea Stacey had was loved by viewers tuning in, and is actually pretty genius.

Enlisting the help of her fiancé Joe Swash, she helped rearrange the kitchen cupboards to make them more accessible and clutter free.

She used tension rods, storage boxes and curtain clips to create slanted shelves for tinned food, and to hang sauce and seasoning packets up to make them all more visible.

Stacey explained it would allow the family to see everything in the cupboard, right to the back, meaning nothing was forgotten about.

After a lot of the food the family had kept was seen to be out of date, Stacey confessed she believed this was the perfect hack to keep the kitchen cupboards organised, referring to it as a "closet for her sauces".

She explained: "I'm basically trying to tilt the shelves. Always reconfigure your shelves to make them work for you.

"These tension rods are just like curtain poles, essentially you just fit them into your space. It just means when you're putting tins in you can see that whole row now.

"I love these things and I've put some curtain clips on it so then it's like a wardrobe of sauces.

"You can easily see everything you have got in there. I do these with my packets and honestly it has changed my life."

Other hacks from the team included turning the bottom steps on the stairs into drawers for shoe storage, using old socks for dust clearing, moving cupboard shelves around and also heating old stickers with a hair dryer to get them off kids' wardrobes with ease.

Stacey Solomon's Sort Your Life Out is available now on BBC iPlayer.
