Stacey Solomon turns home pool into 'village lido' as heatwave closes local schools

Stacey Solomon kindly turned her swimming pool into a "village lido" after schools were closed in her local area due to the scorching temperatures. The Loose Women star, who is set to marry fiancé Joe Swash later this month, opened up her home she affectionately refers to as Pickle Cottage.

Temperatures reached 40°C on Tuesday, July 20 with many schools, offices, and businesses shut down for the day. Making the most of her incredible swimming pool, Stacey revealed she had invited neighbours to come for a splash about.

Stacey, who is mum to Zachary, 14, Leighton, 10, Rex, 3, and her baby daughter Rose, told her 5.3 million Instagram followers: "All the boys schools got cancelled this morning because of the heat. So we welcomed all the kids to pickle cottage pool. It's been a crazzzzyyy day in what has turned into the village lido. I hope you're all ok in this heat."

Stacey revealed that her father was on lifeguard duty as the kids splashed around in the pool, reports The Mirror. The 32-year-old is currently planning her wedding to Joe after cancelling it during the pandemic. Stacey revealed that "as well as trying to host the village lido" she was getting started on the process of her hair in preparation for her nuptials.

"I'm sorting out my wedding hair, it's going to take days so we are getting started early," she told her followers. Stacey later revealed: "I've got nothing done today but the kids have had the best day. And honestly it's been too hot to function."

After a long day, Stacey announced the pool was closed at 21:25. She told her followers: "Pool closed, toes and tumbs up to that. I'm not being sarcastic when I say I can't wait to get the jetwash out tomorrow." For more showbiz and television stories get our newsletter here.
