Stacey Solomon shared her pride with her loyal followers after carrying on what has become a family tradition for her and her adorable brood. The Loose Women star took to Instagram on Sunday to share how she had home-baked a cake for her daughter's first birthday.
Little Rose turns one on Tuesday, October 4, after being born on her mum's 32nd birthday last year. Stacey gave birth at the family's home, adorably dubbed Pickle Cottage, after Stacey initially went to hospital to be checked over. After returning home, Rose was ready for her arrival into the world and community midwives quickly arrived to help.
Rose is Stacey and husband Joe Swash's second child together after son Rex, who was born in 2019. Stacey is also mum to two older sons, Zachary and Leighton, from previous relationships, while former EastEnders star Joe, 40, is also dad to teenage son Harry.
And ahead of Rose's special day, Stacey took to the kitchen to whip up a pink pumpkin-themed masterpiece after putting her skills to the test for her sons' birthdays over the years. The presenter and former X Factor star shared a video of her using bright pink icing before crating some miniature pumpkins to decorate her baking creation.
She also added Roses to the top and round the edge of the cake before creating a little bunting sign spelling out 'ONE'. Sharing the process and end results with her millions of followers, Stacey typed: "Proud," between two rose emojis. "Took me all day but I’ve made Rose’s 1st birthday cake and it’s not a total disaster.
"Don’t get me wrong it’s not Star Baker Quality but it’s well good for me. So I’m putting it on here. It’s my favourite month of the year, because not only is it all things pumpkins & halloween but it’s now Rose & my birthday month. I still can not believe that she was born on my birthday."
She went on to explain: "I made All of the boys 1st birthday cakes (I don’t make any others after year 1 because it takes me so long & I’m terrible at it. So They only have to suffer them on a birthday they won’t remember) But they all get Number One."
Stacey then sweetly ended her post: "Here is your first ever birthday cake Rose lots of love from your pink pumpkin-loving birthday twin. Cannot wait to share our day together on Tuesday."
And she quickly got support from her celebrity pals. Former Great British Bake Off winner Candice Brown replied: "Love it Stacey." Reality star Zara McDermott commented: " Omg this is beautiful!" Former Pussycat Doll Kimberly Wyatt also added: " Impressive!!!" Her fans were also very impressed. @xlouisemccarthyx said: "There is nothing terrible about that cake! It’s amazing well done you!" @lisajoread commented: "Oh well done Stacey....wonderful job...full of love."

Stacey also shared the video to her Instagram Story where she said: "Every 1st birthday I have made each of the boys a birthday cake and Rose's is no exception. Looks like it took me ten minutes not the ten hours it actually took but I'm proud of it." She then joked: "I've definitely made worse."
Rose's first birthday comes just as she reached a rather special milestone. Over the weekend Stacey shared how she'd kept her little girl's new walking skills a secret from her husband as he spent weeks away for work. But upon his return, he was delighted to see Rose toddling along.
Stacey melted fans' hearts as she shared a video of Rose showing off her new walking abilities to her proud and emotional dad. "And She’s Off," Stacey cried. "While Joe was away Rosey Posey learned something new. We waited for Joe to get home to show him. I felt so bad Joe being away but she just went from one day standing up & dancing on the spot, to taking a step or two to fully running around like there’s no tomorrow… it all happened so fast!
"But it was the best feeling ever watching her run into daddy’s arms so excited to show him her new found freedom, I felt like I got to watch it twice seeing Joe get to experience that moment for the first time was just the best I honestly can not get my head around the fact that she will be one next week. Time is flying by and our baby girl is growing so fast… We love you our darling Rose, to the moon and stars and back again little pickle."
