Stacey Solomon shares her guilt amid loss as she plans for new family member

Stacey Solomon has opened up to fans as she plans for new family member after a recent loss.

The 32-year-old shared with fans last month that her beloved dog, Theo, had sadly passed away on Boxing Day.

She said their 11-year-old pet pooch died in her arms surrounded by the young family at their home, Pickle Cottage.

Taking to Instagram over the weekend, Stacey spoke about seeing Theo's empty bed.

Sharing a photo of their other pup, Peanut, sat in Thoe's bed with her's empty on the other side of the cabinet, the mum-of-four said: "It still makes my heart sink every time I walk in here and look at Theo's bed.

"Peanut is either on my lap or sitting in Theo's bed. He's better than he was at the beginning. But still not himself."

She went on to speak about plans on adopting a 'friend' for Peanut but admitted to struggling with guilt.

"We are looking into adopting a friend for him. But I must admit I feel so guilty about it," she said. "I just think about Theo.

"But our vet said Peanut may be a dog that absolutely needs a companion and it could be detrimental to his well-being if he doesn't have one."

Stacey added alongside an adorable photo of her Dachshund: "Why does my heart feels like looking into a friend for Peanut I'm forgetting about Theo.

"I really want to make Peanut his bouncy happy playful self again and we have room in our hearts and home for another fur baby but I just feel so bad about it."

The Loose Women then asked for advice from her millions of followers about whether they have faced a similar situation.

After being flooded with support, Stacey said the messages were "comforting, kind and helpful."

She then revealed the family were off to visit a rescue centre and had visited Theo's grave in her garden.

"I came to see Theo this morning and told her about it all. I think your'e so right, she would have wanted another doggy to be loved and for peanut to be his happy self."

The family, including Stacey's fiancee Joe Swash, then headed to the rescue centre to meet a 'little fur baby' who needed a home.

Last week, Stacey also shared with fans why she is ending her maternity leave after three months.

Stacey and Joe welcomed their baby daughter Rose into the world on Stacey's 32nd birthday back in October.

Stacey gave birth at the family home Pickle Cottage back in October after Stacey initially went to hospital to be checked over.

After returning home, Rose was ready for her arrival into the world and community midwives quickly arrived to help.

The baby girl joined the couple's son Rex, two, Stacey's two older sons, Zachary and Leighton, and Joe's son Harry, from previous relationships.
