Stacey Solomon says it's 'shocking' amid fan support as she plans sweet move for daughters

Stacey Solomon didn't get the agreement of her fans after she previously revealed plans for a change at her family home. The Loose Women star told her loyal Instagram followers this week that she’s going to move her son Rex, three, into one-year-old daughter Rose's room so that her two little girls can share together.

It doesn't seem too long ago that the former X Factor finalist showed off Rex's Panda-inspired room transformation as well as the floral display she painstakingly worked on for Rose's bedroom while she was pregnant with the now 17-month-old. In videos posted on her Instagram Story, Stacey was seen ripping down a flower wall in one room and filmed herself in the process as she said: "Started something exciting today..."

Later calling it 'project room swap' the star further revealed her plans as she gave a last look at Rex's room before the changes begin. She said: “It makes more sense for the girls to share & Rex to have his own room! Also Rex has outgrown pandas so I’m glad I did it all on a budget. Now I can swap them over and bring the bits I love from each room over and change Rex’s theme."

It comes after Stacey and her husband Joe Swash welcomed their third child together. 33-year-old Stacey, who also has sons Zachary and Leighton from previous relationships, and former EastEnders star Joe, 40, who shares teenage son Harry with his ex-fiancee, announced in December they were expecting much to the delight of fans.

The couple, who wed in an intimate ceremony in the garden of their Essex home last July, the caused a shock among their follower when days after their pregnancy announcement, Stacey debuted her baby bump for the first time and confirmed she was already eight months pregnant.

After keeping her fans updated in the last stages of her pregnancy, Stacey confirmed just before Valentine's Day that her and Joe's baby girl had made an appearance, saying she "literally flew" into the world as Stacey gave birth at home as she did with their daughter Rose in October 2021.

And with change planned at Pickle Cottage, the name given to their Essex home due to Stacey's 'pickle' nickname for her children, Stacey returned to social media to show off her latest DIY attempts. The mum-of-five, who is no stranger to putting her hand to crafting as well as renovations around the home, showed off her progress as she made flow patterns across her daughters room.

Using shades of pink against the white walls, Stacey explained in an action video posted to her Instagram Story: “I'm using testers from Rose’s room. I think another shade of pink & I just need to keep going and going. Also I’m going to do some trees down the bottom too in front of this one I think. In fact I have no idea what I’m doing tbh but worst comes to worst I’ll paint over it."

After getting to work while her youngest children enjoyed a nap, Stacey later returned to her social media platform and told her millions of followers; "I thought right, I am going to do something in their room and get started - I don't know who I am sometimes but I started to finger paint a tree."

She admitted: "It looks shocking at the minute... I am going to have to commit to it and keep going or tell the girls when they're older that they did it," before adding: "I wanted to pain or something - I'm not Van Gogh or anything but for a second I thought I was."

Despite her confession that she wasn’t sure what she was doing, the star made the wall look beautiful with her floral design. Sharing a look at the finished result, the BBC Sort Your Life Out host penned: “Your messages are so sweet, I love you guys. I’m going to keep going with it and hopefully it’ll turn into a masterpiece."
