The 32-year-old added that she was worried about snail's only having a short life span which would leave her young son devastated as he was becoming attached. But much to her surprise, after a quick Google, she discovered that the bugs actually live for up to 25 years.

Astonished, she said: "I googled how long do snails live, how long am I going to have to take care of Jonny. Apparently snails can live up to 25 years... 25 years!

"Like I genuinely don't know what I'm going to do. Like I feel that all my kids are going to grow up and move out and I'll still be cutting up cabbage for Jonny the snail."
