Stacey Solomon's flaunts her upcycling talents as she transforms drab table with crystals

Stacey Solomon has shared her latest DIY creation with her fans.

The X Factor star took to her Instagram Stories on Thursday to share some new renovations to Pickle Cottage, the affectionate name she has given to the new home she shares with her fiancé Joe Swash and their family.

Loose Women star Stacey flaunted her upcycling talents with her latest project by transforming a drab tray table she found in her shed.

She made the item appear totally different by covering up old stains that were on the table with purple paint and decorated it with flowers and glass beads in order to give the item a chic look.

Detailing her creative process, she wrote in several posts on her story: “I’ve been in the shed and dug out some bits from the old house and I’m going to try and jazz up my old tray table ready for the purple room.

“This table had grease stains that wouldn’t wash out from spilt drinks. So I painted the top tray…

“Then I stuck some lavender fejkas over the screws and used my old glass beads to make a little border inside.”

Stacey, 31, went on to reveal she still isn’t done with the impressive DIY project, as she wants to pour clear resin into the table to level it out.

She added: “I might buy some resin to pour into here and make it all one level. I love crafting random stuff so so much.”

Once her project was complete, she posted the finished product on her story, as she said crafting makes her “happy”.

She wrote: “I just love it. It’s the silly little things like this that I live to do. Do what makes you happy! Always.”

Meanwhile, Stacey recently hit back at one of her followers after they branded her DIY efforts as “cheap” and “tacky”.

Sharing a screenshot of a comment which read: “That looks so cheap and tacky Stacey stop with all the crap,” Stacey wrote: “Do what makes you happy! Don’t worry about what anyone else thinks! If you love it, go for it… Lova ya always bringing the happy vibes.”

And in an accompanying video, she added: “Don’t hold back, tell me how you really feel about it. I love it, I love the purple and the flowers and the smudged paint. Do what makes you happy.

“The best thing about you, is that you’re you. Nobody else. So don’t question yourself. If it makes you smile and doesn’t hurt anyone, do it to your heart's content. You absolutely deserve nothing less than happiness. Love you all to the moon and back.”
