Stacey Solomon's colour-coded crisp video sparks huge sales in organising products

Stacey Solomon’s colour-coded crisp rail has helped spark a surge in sales of kitchen tidy products.

Sales of kitchen tidy products have rocketed since the Loose Women presenter showed off her organised cabinets with neatly stacked pans and tinned food on a revolving stand.

John Lewis has revealed a 45% week-on-week increase in demand for items such as storage jars, labels and drawer dividers.

Store bosses have credited Instagram posts by stars such as Loose Women presenter Stacey.

The mum-of-three last week shared photos of her snacks hanging from a curtain rail, matching jars and tin cans organised on a revolving stand.

Stacey, 30, took to social media to share her keep-your-kitchen-tidy ideas with her 2.7 million Instagram followers such as the clever use of magnets to stick metal utensils from ice cream scoops and pizza cutters to the inside of cabinet doors and keep them within easy reach.

She told her fans: “I’ve got magnets with sticky back and I’m lining them up using a spirit level to make sure they’re straight before I stick them down.”

Department store John Lewis revealed the week-on-week increase in demand for storage jars, boxes, labels and drawer dividers and credited “Instagram posts by celebrities” has led to a sell-out of its newly launched Home Edit storage collection.

Inspired to declutter by her cleaning guru pal and social media star Mrs Hinch(Sophie Hinchcliffe), Stacey’s posts went viral as Brits copied the look of snack bars in a wicker basket, frying pans hanging on hooks on a rail and in order of size and sponges and cleaning cloths also in rows on hooks in a cupboard under the sink.

Realty TV stars including Kim and Khloe Kardashian are also huge fans of the decluttering craze and often post images of jars and boxes in perfect lines in walk-in cupboards and food stacked with military precision in fridges.

Gabrielle Anderson, storage buyer at John Lewis, said: “The trend for decluttering shows no sign of slowing. Social media has opened up areas of our homes which have often been kept ‘behind the scenes’.

“The recent glimpse into Kim Kardashian’s pantry on Instagram showed a meticulously organised space which inspired many people to copy. The Home Edit, has seen strong demand for storage items to declutter from stackable bins and drawers as well as pantry labels.”
