Stacey Solomon 'quits major project' amid growing fan concerns

Stacey Solomon has reportedly stepped away from a Channel 4 show, raising concerns among fans about her status on Loose Women.

The former X Factor star, 34, has reportedly chosen not to return for a second season of Renovation Rescue, opting to focus on her BBC projects instead.

The show featured Solomon assisting homeowners abandoned by their builders, helping them complete their unfinished homes.

A source told The Sun: “Stacey had a great time making Renovation Rescue but the fact she isn’t doing a second series allows her to focus on her projects with the Beeb.”

Referring to her National Television Award (NTA) win for Sort Your Life Out, the insider added: "The shows have been a massive success, and the NTA win proves that the audience loves what she does."

This follows fans' concerns that she had left Loose Women, as she was absent from the show's 25th-anniversary portrait.

Among those present in the snap were Christine Lampard, Judi Love, Katie Piper, Kelle Bryan, Frankie Bridge, Dame Kelly Holmes, Charlene White, Sunetra Sarker, and Olivia Attwood-Dack.

A Loose Women spokesperson said: “This September, Loose Women celebrates 25 years on TV!

“To mark the occasion, 18 panelists got together for a stunning Silver Jubilee photoshoot, and to share what the show means to them.”

After the the photo was shared, fans noticed Solomon’s absence from the star-studded shot, leaving them to raise questions regarding her future on the show.

These wouldn’t be the only projects the Sort Your Life Out presenter has stepped away from, as she recently announced the end of her In The Style collaboration after three years, to spend more time with family.

She welcomed her fifth child, Belle, with her husband Joe Swash, 42, last year. The couple also share Rex, four, and Rose, two, while the BBC star has 16-year-old Zachary with her ex Dean Cox and Leighton, 11, with ex Aaron Barnham.

In May, she shared that her dream was to quit TV work to become a stay-at-home mum, aiming to only take on work she could mostly do from home, aside from occasional "passion projects."

With her eldest son about to leave school and enter adulthood, the TV personality said she felt she was at a "pivotal" point in her life and didn't want to "miss what I potentially feel like I missed with my older children" as her younger ones grow up.

Speaking on the Glad We Had This Chat podcast, she expressed her desire for more time with all of her kids, which was making her reconsider her work commitments.

She shared: "Each year I have a team meeting with my agent and everyone on the team to say, 'What’s your plan, what’s your goals, blah, blah, blah'.

"And this year when they asked me my five-year goals, I was like 'I want to be a stay-at-home mum'".

“That is like my dream, my ultimate dream. I just want to be with my kids.”

She added: “I mean it is conflicting, because I also want to fulfil my dreams and my goals and the things that I’m passionate about, because if I don’t have that, will I feel unfulfilled?”

The TV star then explained that what she was currently trying to do was “make sure everything that I work on I can work on 90% of the time at home”.

The Standard have contacted Channel 4 and Stacey Solomon’s representative for comment.
