Stacey Solomon opens her pool into 'village lido' as heatwave closes local schools

Stacey Solomon kindly turned her home's pool into a 'village lido' after the heatwave resulted in her children's schools closing.

The Loose Women panellist has sons Zachary, 14, and Leighton, 10, from previous relationships and shares Rex, three, and Rose, with her fiancé Joe Swash.

Joe has a son called Harry, 15, from another relationship.

Due to temperatures reaching 40°C on Tuesday, many schools, offices, and businesses shut down for the day.

The star, 32, took to her Instagram to share a sweet snap of her enjoying an ice cold drink while the local kids enjoyed the pool.

"All the boys schools for cancelled this morning because of the heat," she captioned the post.

"So we welcomed all the kids to pickle cottage pool. It's been a crazzzzyyy day in what has turned into the village lido. I hope you're all ok in this heat."

Stacey revealed that her father was on lifeguard duty as the kids splashed around in the pool.

Britain has been enduring the hottest day on record as temperatures reached 40C just before 1pm today.

Stacey has been taking advantage of her Pickle Cottage pool in recent days and shared a picture of her kids enjoying the water on Monday.

She and her two younger children Rex and Rose made a beeline for their swimming pool first thing in the morning.

As Stacey shared a photo of her son Rex sitting on a slide at the edge of the pool while nine-month-old Rose is sat beside her big brother, she added the time the image was taken at 6.21am.

Stacey shared the photo on her Instagram story and wrote: "Good morning. I've got work later and the boys have got school so we got up bright and early this morning to have some pool time".

Mum-of-four Stacey, who is also mum to Zach and Leighton, added: "Feel so so lucky & grateful to have the pool. Especially in this weather", alongside a praying hands emoji.

"Hope you are ok today it's going to be so hot in some places to look after yourself and the fur babies love you lots", she then ended the message with a black heart emoji.

She also shared a sweet video of Rex and her husband-to-be Joe Swash playing around the pool with the slide.
