Stacey Solomon admits she and husband Joe Swash can be 'like ships passing in the night'

Stacey Solomon is known for being candid when it comes to her busy family life, and has admitted that she and husband Joe Swash can be like "ships passing in the night."

The Loose Women star, 33, and ex EastEnders actor Joe, 40, have their hands full with their blended family and work schedules.

The pair, who married this year, share son Rex, three, and daughter Rose, 14 months, while Stacey has two older sons from previous relationships, and Joe has one son.

The in-demand media personalities can struggle to see each other due to their professional lives, Stacey has confessed.

She said: "Joe and I can be like ships passing in the night ... When I work he looks after the kids, and when he works I have the kids."

The X Factor favourite told Mail Online: "We’re very different people but when we strip everything back, what it all comes down to is our family."

Stacey shared her annual Christmas card picture last week, which showed herself, her two youngest and their dogs Peanut and Teddy sitting on a sleigh.

She joked that "there’s too many of us to manage", when explaining the absence of her fellow loved ones.

Hopefully Joe and Stacey will be able to spend some quality time together over the festive season, as they mark their first Christmas as a married couple.

She shared: "We look forward to the same thing every single year – just stopping. We know that on Christmas Eve, Christmas Day and Boxing Day we’ll be home with our kids, and for us that’s the most exciting thing."

Stacey's career seems to be going from strength to strength, as she recently presented her own Crafty Christmas one-off programme on BB1, and her future on Loose Women was confirmed after fears she might be leaving the show.

Fans were concerned when they noticed she was absent from the show's Christmas party.

However, on Friday, fans' fears were put to rest as Loose Women marked their final show before Christmas.

Nadia Sawalha, Linda Robson, Kaye Adams and Kelly Holmes were all on the panel to bid a final Merry Christmas to viewers ahead of the break for the next couple of days.

Singers Coleen Nolan, Brenda Edwards and Kelle Bryan sang a festive track with a number of other Loose Women stars including I'm A Celebrity's Charlene White and Denise Welch.

However, it was Stacey's appearance that delighted fans most as it confirmed she is still very much a part of the Loose Women family.

In the description on Stacey's Instagram account, one line reads "Proud @loosewomen."

Fans became worried when Stacey didn't go to the show's festive bash.

Sharing a video from the event, Charlene told fans: "There are SEVERAL videos I can’t post from today’s Loose Women Christmas lunch (I am the lady from the News obvs. And some things must be kept between friends and colleagues)… however, the @loosewomen team creating a dance routine for the Birds Of A Feather theme tune in honour of @lindarobson58 is one of the few videos I can post."
