Stacey Solomon absent from Loose Women Jubilee episode after viral Royal family jibe

Stacey Solomon was absent as the Loose Women paid tribute to the Queen yesterday.

Thursday's edition of the popular ITV programme was dedicated to the Platinum Jubilee celebrations. Gloria Hunniford, Linda Robson, Jane Moore and Kaye Adams donned outfits inspired by different periods during Queen Elizabeth's 70 year reign.

The programme also played a compilation of the panelists paying tribute to the monarch, as Coleen Nolan, Janet Street-Porter, Ruth Langsford and Frankie Bridge appeared on-screen in pre-recorded clips to thank the Queen - as Mirror Online reports.

However, Stacey was absent from the line-up and she has previously criticised the nation's “obsession” with the Royals. A clip from the show in 2018 has been recirculated amid Jubilee celebrations.

The mum-of-four said: “I don’t get why we’re so obsessed with these humans that are exactly the same. It could be us four sitting there, I just don’t get it.

Jane Moore was also on the programme and said she believed the Royals are “becoming like celebrities”. Stacey shot back: “To me, that’s all they are.”

When Stacey questioned her fellow panelists on their reasons for “loving” the Queen, Linda claimed: “She’s always worked really hard, hasn’t she?”

Stacey hit back: "But I would work hard if the country paid for me to have like 12 houses and work really hard.”

Jane said: "They don't pay for all the houses. We contribute about £39m a year. It costs £300m a year to run the Royal Family."
