Stacey Dooley's response to Kevin Clifton's mental health struggle shows sweet bond

Kevin Clifton's partner Stacey Dooley showed him with endless support after he opened up about his mental health struggles.

The former Strictly Come Dancing star recently took to Instagram to share a series of throwback and current photos of his life.

Kevin, 40, who welcomed his first child, Minnie, with partner Stacey in January this year, said he was "celebrating the most wonderful past 5 years."

In an honest Instagram post, Kevin, who left Strictly in 2020, penned: "Don’t like to talk about it too much in public but a few years ago i wasn’t always doin as well as I always tried to make out.

"Today I’m celebrating the most wonderful past 5 yrs."

Stacey immediately took to the comment section to support her 'angel'.

She commented: "My angel. We love you endlessly," along with a heart emoji.

Kevin responded: "love u and Mins."

The dancer shared a photo of him looking unfocused as well as a photo of a piece of paper that read: "Just remember five years ago, you dreamed about where are you now."

He also posted a picture of himself and Stacey gazing adoringly at their daughter as Kevin held the tot in his arms.

Other photos showed Kevin strutting his stuff on stage and lifting the glitterball trophy with Stacey.

Fans and friends praised the star for being so candid in his post and even opened up about their own experiences.

Strictly head judge Shirley Ballas wrote: "Proud of you @kevinclifton."

Sister and former co-star Joanne Clifton simply commented: "Proud of you."

Stacey previously opened up about her relationship with Kevin and called him the "kindest man I ever met."

The star admitted she was head-over-heels in a chat with BBC Radio 5's Headliners podcast.

"I didn't want to be such a cliché – it's so cringe and cheesy. I want to be cooler than this," she said.

"He is an angel. He is the kindest man I've met."

Most recently, she later gushed over Kevin in a post for Valentine's Day, describing him and Minnie as the "loves of [her] life". She added: "I dunno what I did to get so lucky."
