'Stabbing victims' arrested after alleged knife attack at Scots flats

Two men who were rushed to hospital following an alleged knife attack at a block of flats in Wishaw have now been arrested in connection with the incident.

Emergency services sped to the flats on Pentland Road in the Wishawhill area of the town in the early hours of Wednesday morning where the pair, both aged 31, were found injured.

One man was transferred to Hairmyres Hospital in East Kilbride where he was described as being in a serious condition, while a second man remains in a stable condition at the nearby Wishaw General, reports GlasgowLive.

Police remained at the scene throughout Wednesday morning, with the flats being cordoned off while officers launched an investigation.

Cops believe the event was isolated and that no other people were involved, but have confirmed that one man has been arrested and charged in relation. He was due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court today.

The other man has also been arrested. A Police Scotland spokesperson said: “Police were called to Pentland Road, Wishaw, around 12.20am on Wednesday, 12 October, 2022 after two men aged, both aged 31 were found injured.

“They were taken to hospital, where one remains in a stable condition. This is believed to be an isolated incident with no other people involved.

“One of the men has been arrested and charged in connection and is due to appear at Hamilton Sheriff Court on Thursday, 13 October, 2022. The other has been arrested in connection with the incident.”
