A 'stabbing' at a Glasgow housing estate has led to a sniffer dogs being brought in amid an ongoing police probe.

Police raced to the scene on Eversley Street in the city's Tollcross at around 12.15pm on Thursday June 23.

A source told the Daily Record a resident, thought to be in his 40s, had been stabbed within a property on the street.

Police Scotland confirmed a man had been rushed to Queen Elizabeth University Hospital. His current condition is unknown.

Cordons have been placed throughout the street while police carry out enquiries into what they have called the 'disturbance'.

Sniffer dogs were also seen earlier in the afternoon while a single ambulance remained parked close to a new build housing estate.

The ambulance left shortly after 2pm as CID joined the numerous officers and vehicles already stationed in the area.

They appeared to retrace footsteps and search an area of pavement near the corner between Eversley Street and Tollcross Road.

CID also carried out door-to-door enquiries at local businesses and it's believed that they were also trying to acquire CCTV footage.

Residents of Eversley Street have been told to remain their homes while the investigation into the alleged stabbing continues.

One local business owner said: "My friend's daughter has been locked inside her room for hours because she stays on that street.

"She doesn't know what to do because the police won't let her out yet. They won't tell her what has happened."
