Dublin businesses are bracing themselves for a St Patrick’s Day that will rival the pre-pandemic parade years.
Early indications suggest that visitor numbers will be in tight competition with the 2019 figures - the last time there was any Paddy's Day parades in Ireland.
According to business group DublinTown, many hotels are fully booked and Dublin Airport is expecting 77,000 passengers per day this week.

DublinTown Chief Executive Richard Guiney, said: “Businesses in Dublin are getting ready for a St Patrick’s Day week that will come close to pre-pandemic levels in terms of footfall, visitor numbers, and spending in the city.
“Dublin Airport will be extremely busy, with 77,000 people expected to go through the airport each day and hotel occupancy is very high.
“It’s going to be a fantastic week for visitors and business in the city.
“The St Patrick’s Festival is always a hugely important week for the city’s businesses and it’s great that we now have a chance to celebrate it properly.’’
DublinTown has been working very closely with businesses in the city, the gardai, and Dublin City Council to ensure the week goes smoothly, particularly in terms of safety, security and street cleaning.
They will also be closely monitoring footfall over the course of the week.
