The Luas and Dart timetables for the upcoming national holiday have been confirmed with Iarnrod Eireann confirming extra trains for the St. Patrick's Day parade.
They have confirmed that a Sunday service will be in operation on Friday March 17, and have advised people to allow sufficient time to travel to the parade which begins at noon, as there will be a high volume of people using the service on the day.
Customers are also advised that Tara Street station will be closed from 4pm onwards on St. Patrick's Day to facilitate Garda crowd management. It is advised to use Connolly or Pearse stations at this time.

There will also be late night trains on Dart and commuter routes with the following timetable to be in place:
- 00:20hrs Pearse to Maynooth
- 00:30hrs Pearse to Howth
- 00:30hrs Connolly to Greystones
- 00:40hrs Pearse to Dundalk (serving Tara St, Connolly, Howth Junction and then all stations to Dundalk)
- 00:50hrs Pearse to Kildare (serving Tara St, Connolly, Drumcondra, and all stations ParkWest to Kildare)
On Saturday March 18 there will be a Saturday timetable in place with extra services on for the Ireland v England Six Nations match at the Aviva Stadium.
There will be extra Darts before and after the match, although people are advised that Grand Canal Dock Station will be closed at full time from 6:20pm to 8:05pm to allow Garada crowd management
An extra 9:25pm service from Dublin Heuston to Cork Kent with connection in Limerick will also be in operation.
Luas services are confirmed to operate on Sunday hours for St. Patrick'S Day with some slight changes. From 10am to 3pm all Luas stops between Smithfield and Connolly on the red line will be closed to facilitate the parade. The red line use resume full operation from 3pm onwards.
For the green line, from the first tram until 18:00, trams will run between Broombridge and Dominick, and between St. Stephen’s Green and Brides Glen only.
There will also be no trams running between St. Stephen’s Green and Dominick from the first tram until 18:00, and the green line is expected to reopen at approximately 18:00.
Dublin Bus have confirmed that they will be operating a Sunday timetable this St. Patrick's Day and City tours will not be in place. They have also said that due to the parade real time information will not be available from approximately 8am to 6pm.
