St Patrick's day bank Holiday supermarket opening times for Tesco, Lidl, Aldi, SuperValu and Dunnes Stores

St Patrick's Day is nearly here and despite Met Eireann's forecast of rain, it is unlikely to dampen the festive spirits.

The bank holiday this year falls on a Friday, which will see people enjoy a long weekend off work, and many will be taking the opportunity to attend parades around the country or meet up with friends and family.

People who plan on hosting parties or putting on a big spread are advised to check their local supermarket's opening hours before heading to the shops as many will be operating at reduced hours for the public holiday.

Most shops will open in accordance with their usual Sunday hours or bank holiday hours which can usually be found on their websites.

Here are all of the opening hours for Ireland's main supermarkets over the St Patrick's Day weekend:

Aldi

Aldi stores will also be open during their regular Sunday hours opening hours this bank holiday, which is 9am until 9pm.

Dunnes Stores

All Dunnes Stores in Ireland may have different opening hours but most stores will be operating off their Sunday hours which are 9am to 8pm.

SuperValu

Supervalu stores operate to their own individual opening hours, but many are expected to follow their usual Sunday hours on Friday.

Customers are advised to check the official SuperValu website here for their local store's opening hours.

Lidl

Lidl will be open 9am to 9pm on this bank holiday, which is their usual Sunday opening hours.

Tesco

Most Tescos across Dublin will be open at their Sunday hours which are 9am to 10pm. It is possible that some stores in the city centre may be closed due to the St. Patricks day parade.
