St Pat's sign Wolves full-back Jack Scott on loan

Wolves full-back Jack Scott has joined St Patrick’s Athletic on loan ahead of the new season.

The 19-year-old only recently signed a new deal with the Premier League club but was eager to seek first-team football.

And new Saints boss Tim Clancy has secured the transfer of the former Linfield player as he looks to bolster his defensive ranks.

St Pat’s lost three options at right-back after Sam Bone and John Mountney joined Dundalk in recent weeks while Jak Hickman has left.

Clancy said: "I'm delighted to get Jack in. Having just signed his new contract at Wolves, it's a great opportunity for him to come and play games.

“Jack comes highly recommended. He's an attacking full-back who loves to get forward and he trained very well in his first session this morning.

“Jack is certainly someone we are looking forward to working with for the coming season."

Scott, who will wear the Number 2 shirt, is eager to get going with the FAI Cup winners.

He said: "It feels really good to be here at this big club. We've been in talks for the last while and I'm delighted to get the move done.

“I know Darragh Burns as we played together at international level and I know Joe Redmond too from his time at Birmingham.

Scott added: “I'm looking to come here and get some first team action to see what I can do.

“The club finished second in the league last year and won the cup so we'll be aiming to have a positive season."

St Pat’s are also expected to land Adam O’Reilly on loan from Preston North End, having joined Waterford on a similar deal last season.
