Striker Lewis Jamieson has joined the Diamonds in a bid to fire himself into the reckoning at St Mirren.
The talented 20-year-old spent the first half of last season on loan at Championship side Inverness, before making a strong impression at Danny Lennon's League One side Clyde.
After bagging five goals for the Bully Wee, the Saints Academy graduate will now continue his development at Rhys McCabe's League One side Airdrie - who put the Buddies out of the Premier Sports Cup last week.
Speaking to airdriefc.com, Jamieson said: “The gaffer was speaking to me over the course of the summer, really keen on getting me in.
“I’m happy to come here and get game time, and hopefully do well.
"I’m hoping to get a good few goals to help the team!”
The forward will link up with fellow St Mirren youngster Dean McMaster, who also joined the Diamonds on loan earlier this month.
The Buddies wished Jamieson well, while also stating they have an option to recall the striker in January.
McCabe added: “We know of the quality Lewis has from playing against us last year.
“He adds yet more pace to our frontline, as well as plenty of skill and scoring ability.
"We’re delighted to welcome him into the squad.”
