St Mirren linked with striker Stav Nahmani as Stephen Robinson hunts Curtis Main replacement

St Mirren are understood to have opened talks about a prospective move for Israel Under-21 striker Stav Nahmani.

The Buddies are reportedly interested in the 20-year-old Maccabi Haifa forward, who has so far enjoyed loan spells at Hapoel Nof HaGalil, Beitar Jerusalem and Hapoel Hadera.

Nahmani is out of contract at the end of the month, but Maccabi would still be due compensation because of the forward’s age.

Saints boss Stephen Robinson is hoping to add to his frontline after losing key striker Curtis Main, who decided against agreeing a new deal at the end of last season.

Tony Watt also returned to parent club Dundee United, while Jonah Ayunga is still recovering from a serious cruciate knee ligament injury in February.

Saints forward Eamonn Brophy did return to Paisley at the end of last season to progress his rehab after his loan spell with Ross County ended early after picking up a thigh injury.

A move for Scotland Under-21 striker Kieron Bowie was progressing well earlier this month but hit a snag, with the ex-Raith Rovers youngster now likely to remain in England as a return north would impact his homegrown status with Fulham.

St Mirren have also recently been linked with a move for ex-Crystal Palace striker Rob Street. The 21-year-old spent last season on loan at English League One side Shrewsbury Town.

Morecambe’s Jacob Bedeau is also a defensive target to help replace Charles Dunne and Joe Shaughnessy.

The Buddies haven’t yet been able to agree a fee for Robinson’s former player.
