St Mirren linked with bid for Northern Ireland international striker Conor McMenamin

St Mirren have been linked with a move for Glentoran striker and Northern Ireland international Conor McMenamin.

The 28-year-old striker is understood to be keen on a move to Scotland or England having made the step up to international level last year.

Having recently come off the bench for his country in narrow defeats to Denmark and Kazakhstan, the former Linfield and Cliftonville star is said to be keen on a switch to the Buddies.

St Mirren assistant boss Diarmuid O'Carroll has had a good look at the forward during the last international break, as he is part of the Northern Ireland coaching staff.

And now the Belfast Telegraph report that Saints have already had a bid knocked back for the talented forward, with McMenamin considering handing in a transfer request to force a move through.

It remains to be seen whether Stephen Robinson's side return with an improved offer to try and land the striker, who would help fill the gap left by Curtis Main - who turned down a new deal with the club earlier this month.

Bolton meanwhile are understood to have struck a deal with St Mirren to sign Australia international Keanu Baccus.

The 25-year-old midfielder played a key role as the Paisley club sealed a first top six finish in the Premiership since the split was introduced.

Having become an international star since joining the club from Western Sydney Wanderers, Baccus now looks set to join the English League One side this week as they look to build a squad capable of achieving promotion to the Championship this season.
