St Mirren goalkeeping coach Jamie Langfield has distanced himself from a reunion with former club Aberdeen and Jim Goodwin.
Saints fans were on red alert earlier this week when Dons goalkeeping coach Gordon Marshall was released.
Many Aberdeen supporters were quick to tout Langfield for a return to Pittodrie to link up again with former Buddies manager Goodwin.
But last night Langfield poured cold water on the possibility of the switch on Twitter.
Replying to an Aberdeen fan, he posted: "No I won’t be leaving St Mirren to go to Aberdeen so let’s just put that to bed."
Langfield has done a superb job of keeping the sticks well covered in Paisley over the last four years, developing Vaclav Hladky and current number one Jak Alnwick who have both regularly impressed.
Langfield spent ten years at Pittodrie as a player before finishing his career in his hometown with the Buddies as a player-coach.
