St Mirren boss Stephen Robinson admits fear over 'mounting' injuries and suspensions ahead of Hearts rematch

Stephen Robinson admits he'll have to turn to even more teenagers for their trip to the capital on Friday.

The Buddies face a rematch with Hearts at Tynecastle without a number of key first team players, with suspensions and injuries beginning to mount up in Paisley.

St Mirren will be without Marcus Fraser after he picked up a late red card on Saturday, becoming the third Saints player to be sent off in as many matches.

Robinson feels it's going to be a tough period for the Paisley side that they just need to power through before players return from the treatment room and suspension.

He said: "Injuries and suspensions are starting to mount up. Every game now we’re down to 10 men or having to make substitutions of people on a yellow card.

"The slightest touch now and you could get another yellow. It’s becoming difficult to manage. We’re going to have four or five kids on the bench next week.

"It will be a completely different team on Friday. We've lost Declan Gallagher, Jonah Ayunga, Ryan Strain, Marcus Fraser.

"We had a 16-year-old boy, a 17-year-old boy and three 18-year-olds on the bench against Hearts.

"More of them will be on the bench and we just have to get through this period.

"Declan woke up with a really bad back and we couldn't take a risk on him with so many games coming up.

"We have a squad of about 15 where we can bring people in and be equally as good. Beyond that, it becomes a little less experienced."
