St Mirren academy star Dylan Reid linked with 'six-figure' switch to Crystal Palace

Saints academy talent Dylan Reid has been linked with an incredible move to English Premier League side Crystal Palace.

The talented 17-year-old has been tracked by a number of teams over the last two years, including Benfica, Bayern Munich and Rangers.

And at the start of the current campaign, he turned down a move to Ange Postecoglou's Celtic after it emerged he'd be put straight into their B team.

But after finding first-team minutes difficult to come by in Paisley so far this season, it is being reported that Crystal Palace have agreed a six-figure sum with St Mirren for the Scotland Under-17 star.

Palace, currently managed by Arsenal legend Patrick Vieira, sit 12th in the English top flight with Reid very likely to still be seen as a future prospect this year.

Reid remains the Paisley club's youngest-ever player after being handed his debut by Jim Goodwin against Rangers at Ibrox back in 2021.

The youngster wasn't involved in Wednesday night's 4-0 defeat to Celtic having been named on the St Mirren bench in recent weeks.

Saints boss Stephen Robinson doesn't expect any more arrivals at the SMiSA Stadium this month but has acknowledged that the form of some players in his squad could attract interest, particularly midfielders Ethan Erhahon and Keanu Baccus.
