Morgan Steedman netted the only goal of the game on Sunday as St Johnstone WFC continued a strong start to the season.
The striker followed up her saved penalty just shy of the hour mark to find the back of the net and clinch Saints all three points away at East Fife.
That is now two wins from two following the curtain-raising triumph over Queen’s Park.
Delighted interim head coach Murdo Steven said: “I’m happy to pick up the three points against a tough side.
“The warm weather had an impact on the game and the pitch was difficult to play on but I thought we rolled our sleeves up and battled away.
“We showed good character to see the game out and never stopped trying to play.”
Steedman netted a number of important goals for the team last term and is being backed to impress again.
“Morgan is a quality player and deserves all the plaudits she gets,” Steven added.
“We have asked her to play a different role for the team the last few games and again this will only add to what she can offer the team going forward.”
While pleased with the start to the campaign, Steven is urging his players to take the positives into the next few weeks.
He said: “We are delighted with the start we’ve made but our focus is the next game and doing all we can to pick up the three points.
“Every team in this league offers a challenge and one where, if we don’t give 100 per cent, you will drop points.
“We are in good shape and the group has a desire to keep that going into next week.”
