St Johnstone to face Inverness in Scottish Premiership play-off

St Johnstone will need to overcome Inverness to retain their top-flight status.

The Perth club will meet the Highlands over two nerve-jangling legs after they managed to get the better of Arbroath - on penalties - in the semi-final.

The first leg of the Premiership play-off will take place on Friday, May 20 up north with a 7.45pm kick-off.

Then, on Monday, May 23, Saints will have McDiarmid Park home advantage for the second leg.

Callum Davidson’s men, following on from their incredible cup double heroics last season, disappointingly finished this campaign in 11th spot.

There was some confidence to be taken from an improved showing in Wednesday evening’s win against Aberdeen.

Saints will seek to keep hold of the positive momentum when they travel to take on Hibs this Sunday.
