St Johnstone legend Murray Davidson set to retire from football after fantastic career in Perth

St Johnstone midfielder Murray Davidson is set to announce his retirement from football this weekend.

The 35-year-old will pack his boots away as a legend of the Perth club following a wonderful 14-year service.

Davidson first signed at McDiarmid Park back in 2009 - alongside Dave Mackay - and has played a key role in Saints’ continuing life in the top-flight of Scottish football.

While he missed out on the 2014 Scottish Cup due to injury, Davidson was front and centre for the trophy triumph at Hampden in 2021. And he very much deserved it.

Not only a familiar face within the walls of the Perth stadium, he has become well-known as a local around the city.

Saints finish their campaign at home to Livingston on Sunday.
