St Johnstone fan group Fair City Unity to boycott Rangers trip due to 'unwarranted and extortionate' ticket pricing

St Johnstone fan group Fair City Unity to boycott Rangers trip due to 'unwarranted and extortionate' ticket pricing

ST JOHNSTONE fan group Fair City Unity are set to boycott this Saturday's match against Rangers due to "unwarranted and extortionate" ticket pricing.

The Perth club announced details for the Scottish Premiership match this week with adults in the away end being charged £31 and over 65s and 16/17 year-olds £24.

Under 16 tickets are priced at £13 while wheelchair disabled adults are £18.

As a result of the prices, Saints group Fair City Unity will not be making the trip to Ibrox on Saturday.

A statement read: "In response to this week's announcement of unwarranted and extortionate ticket pricing for Saturday's match at Ibrox, the group have made the difficult decision of boycotting the fixture.

"We urge fellow St Johnstone supporters to take the same action. Whilst society suffers in a cost of living crisis, we feel that clubs are crucial ambassadors to the local community they serve, and should be leading in the fight of making watching live football affordable to all.  TWENTY'S PLENTY."
