St Helens North MP Conor McGinn has been suspended by the Labour Party, the ECHO understands.
Mr McGinn has been the Labour MP for the St Helens North constituency since the General Election in 2015. Until recently he held the titles of shadow minister without portfolio and deputy national campaign co-ordinator for the party, where he worked closely with campaigns boss Shabana Mahmood.
The St Helens North MP took up the two senior Labour roles in 2021 and while there has been no public announcement that he left the positions, Labour's website no longer has him listed in either role.

He has now been administratively suspended by Labour, pending an investigation, following a complaint. Under party rules an administrative suspension leads to an automatic precautionary suspension of the Labour Party whip.
Mr McGinn, 38, has also has had his party membership suspended until the case is resolved, said he believes the complaint is "totally unfounded" and "rejects and suggestion of wrongdoing."
In a statement released to The Guardian, he said: “The Labour party has informed me that it is automatically required to apply a temporary procedural suspension while a complaint is investigated. I have not been told the details of the complaint but I am confident that it is entirely unfounded. I strongly reject any suggestion of wrongdoing and I look forward to the matter being resolved quickly.”
