Bristol’s St George Park has scooped the number four slot in the UK’s Top 20 picnic spots. The popular BS5 park beat competition from several well-known outdoor venues including London’s Hyde Park.
Cartwright & Butler, the producers of luxury preserves, biscuits and gift boxes, analysed over 4,000 parks nationwide to unveil the ultimate parks to picnic in this summer. To do this, they looked at national parks with a minimum 4* rating in the Top 100 most populated towns and cities in the UK.
They then used Google Maps to determine how many public toilets and convenience stores are within a 10-minute walk of each park - important benchmarks for picnickers who need to buy extra suppliers or need the loo. Rankings are based on which parks have the most facilities within walking distance, followed by park rating, and average toilet rating.
