St. Cloud, Minn. - Former President Donald Trump's campaign is facing an outstanding bill of nearly $209,000 owed to the city of St. Cloud for services rendered during a July rally, as reported by city officials. The bill encompasses services that go beyond the city's usual provisions, including additional police work, alterations to a construction project, and IT-related services, totaling $63,000, $62,000, and close to $2,000 respectively.
The rally, which took place on July 27 at a hockey arena on St. Cloud State University's campus, featured Trump and running mate JD Vance addressing a large crowd. The event drew an overflow audience that watched Trump's speech on a big screen outside the arena.
St. Cloud City Administrator Matt Staehling explained that the city routinely invoices the White House for campaign stops and other events necessitating city services, such as half-marathon races. Official events, however, are not billed to the White House.
While the Trump campaign has yet to respond to a request for comment regarding the outstanding bill, it did settle a $35,000 invoice from St. Cloud State University related to the same rally back in August, according to Athletic Director Holly Schreiner.
