Arrangements for the SSLC examinations that will begin on Thursday have been completed.
As many as 4,26,999 lakh regular students and 408 students in the private category will appear for the examinations in 2,961 centres. Of them, nine centres each are in the Gulf and Lakshadweep and the rest in the State.
A total of 574 students will appear for the examination in the Gulf, and 882 in Lakshadweep. In all, 2.18 lakh boys and 2.08 lakh girls have registered for the examinations.
This time too, the count of English medium students outnumbers those taking the exam in Malayalam. The number of Malayalam medium students is 1.91 lakh, English medium 2.31 lakh, Tamil 2,151, and Kannada medium 1,457.
The maximum number of students appearing for the examination is from Malappuram—78,266. The least is from Pathanamthitta district—10,529.
PKMMHS, Edarikode, has the maximum number of students taking the examinations—2,104. HM HSS, Randarkara, will send the least—only one.
As many as 2,961 chief superintendents and 2,976 deputy chief superintendents have been deployed for exam duty, besides invigilators. Squads at the level of district education officers, deputy directors of education, Pareeksha Bhavan, Directorate of General Education, and General Education Department will visit exam centres to ensure that exams were being conducted smoothly.
Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty, on Wednesday evening, convened an online meeting of district education officers to review the preparations for the examinations. Director of General Education Jeevan Babu K. and examination secretary Lal K.I. attended the meeting.
