NEW DELHI: Premier League club Tottenham Hotspur announced on Tuesday that they have completed the signing of Manor Solomon on a free transfer. The 23-year-old winger from Israel has agreed to a five-year contract with the club.
Solomon was previously with Shakhtar Donetsk, a Ukrainian club. However, due to the ongoing war in Ukraine, FIFA granted permission for players to suspend their contracts with Ukrainian clubs.
As a result, Solomon spent the last season on loan at Fulham, another club in England. Now, he has joined Spurs ahead of the upcoming season.
"The Israel international has agreed a deal with the club that will run until 2028, subject to international clearance and work permit," Spurs said in a statement.
During his time with Shakhtar, Solomon made 106 appearances for the club, winning the domestic league title on two occasions. He showcased his goal-scoring prowess by finding the back of the net 22 times for Shakhtar.
On the international stage, Solomon has represented the Israel national team, earning 35 caps and scoring seven goals.
During his loan spell at Fulham, the talented winger made a significant impact by scoring five goals across various competitions. Notably, he achieved the feat of scoring in five consecutive matches for the London-based club.
