Springholm couple celebrate 65th wedding anniversary

A Springholm couple celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary this week.

Robert and Isobel Cloy, who met at a village hall dance, were married on April 25, 1957, in Haugh of Urr Church.

They moved to a dairy farm at the Hermitage before moving on to Cumstoun Mains, where they stayed for 25 years.

After 12 years at another farm, they retired to Springholm where they have lived for the past 22 years. Robert, aged 85, and Isobel, aged 83, have two children, three grandchildren and four great grandchildren.

They celebrated the blue sapphire anniversary at the Galloway Arms in Crocketford on Sunday.
